To get the full on media blitz started, James performed “A New Life” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with With The Roots and a 15 Piece Band. As always with James, he brings down the house. The mighty Afghan Whigs are back after a 13 year hiatus. Of course, leader Greg Dulli has busied himself during that time with Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins, as a solo artist and even talking to MOKB, but it’s great to have this band reborn and bringing a healthy dose of self-loathing back to popular music.

Fans are still waiting for news of a full-blown American tour, but we do know the band will be making appearances at Lollapalooza, the Austin City Limits Festival and the Dulli-curated I’ll Be Your Mirror in Asbury Park and London.

Hey Dulli, get Minneapolis on the schedule and we’ll catch that Twins game. Dogs and beers on me!

Last night, the band took to the stage of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and busted out their latest dip into the cover tune pool and an oldie but a goodie from Congregation, I’m Her Slave.

Jack White was the musical guest last night on Saturday Night Live. This was the first television appearance for his debut solo project. With two different backing bands (one all-female, one all-male), White featured Blunderbuss tracks Love Interruption and Sixteen Saltines. We have both of them for you to watch below.

Bluderbuss is due out April 24th on Third Man Records and Columbia Records.
