Dad rock is alive and well in 2014. The War on Drugs brought the exuberant “Red Eyes” to Letterman last night and absolutely killed it. The song is off easily one of the year’s best albums Lost In The Dream. You should go pick it up, if you haven’t already. Watch below.

Video : London Grammar : “Metal & Dust” (Live on Jimmy Kimmel)

The flawless London Grammar made an appearance last night of Jimmy Kimmel Live. They performed one of the many standout songs, “Metal & Dust”, from their amazing debut EP of the same name and LP, If You Wait. Lead singer Hannah Reid mesmerizes during the performance. Watch it below.

Video : Beck : “Blue Moon” & “Waves” (Live on SNL)

Beck’s new LP, Morning Phase, is the odds on favorite at this point to show up at the top of the most Best of lists this year. From top to bottom, it is a perfect collection of melancholy pop. Over the weekend, he brought album tracks “Blue Moon” and “Waves” to life on Saturday Night Live. If you look in the background, you will notice he has enlisted J. Tillman aka Father John Misty to be a part of his band. Watch below.

Pop singer Sky Ferreira has been making waves this year with both her music and offstage activities that included a drug arrest with boyfriend and DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith. She is currently in full promotion mode for her excellent debut LP, Night Time, My Time, and, recently, landed supporting duties for Miley Cyrus. Last night, she headed over to Ed Sullivan theater to perform her standout track “You’re Not The One” on Late Show with David Letterman. Watch below.

Nobody can dispute the big year HAIM has had in 2013, so it only makes sense that it culminates with a performance on Saturday Night Live, last night. The trio of sisters performed their latest single “The Wire” and “Don’t Save Me” from their debut Days Are Gone. Just like with all their performances, you can’t help, but latch on to their infectious personalities and stage presence. In addition to performing the two songs, the band appeared in a sketch using classic and one of our favorite songs of all-time, “Your Love,” from The Outfield as the basis to pretty entertaining results. By now, you have to be living underneath a rock to have not caught wind of New Zealand singer Lorde. I mean, you know when you have entities such as VH1 latching onto the buzz and the blogosphere have not turned their backs, you have something pretty special. Her debut, Pure Heroine, hit the shelves last week and, last night, she made her US television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She performed the massive hit “Royals” along with another album standout “White Teeth Teens.” Watch them both below.
