MOKB Exclusive Video : Cary Ann Hearst : Hells Bell

If you’re anything like me, your ticker skipped a beat when you saw the name of this tune. A fella’s gotta have some serious stones to cover AC/DC, and if that fella in question is a woman, well, color me impressed. Sadly, this isn’t a cover of Angus and the boys’ much-beloved paean to debauchery, but don’t think for a moment that South Carolina’s Cary Ann Hearst ain’t in possession of some serious stones. Hells Bells has been cherry-picked from Hearst’s brand-spankin’ new Are You Ready To Die? EP. Rancorous, bone-rattling and more than a little fun, this is a little what Dresden Dolls would sound like if you fed Amanda Palmer a steady diet of Wanda Jackson and USDA-recalled hamburger. And based on her sound, style and sass, I’m going to need to see medical records before I can rule out Hearst beginning life as Jack White’s parasitic twin. Keep an eye on this one, folks.
