Here at MOKB, we like to think we can smell a winner. A while back we sounded our barbaric yawp over Dan Mangan, a Canadian singer-songwriter whose Nice, Nice, Very Nice (2009) stamped his ticket as a musical talent to be reckoned with in the very near future, despite the puzzling cover art. Apparently, some other folks agreed, so August 10th will witness the official U.S. release of Nice, Nice , Very Nice courtesy of Arts and Crafts. That momentous occasion will be followed by Dan and crew dropping south of the border for a month of live dates with the likes of The Wooden Birds, The Walkmen and Japandroids. In particular, circle that September 10th Portland date with Okkervil River as a must-see.
