Steel Train, aka the high-powered, anthemic New Jersey-based rockers who are not Gaslight Anthem, are back with a self-titled release and taking their show to the great unwashed masses. The record, produced by Steven McDonald (Be Your Own Pet, Imperial Teen), boosts no shortage of arena-ready numbers, including the hopelessly catchy Bullet, which we’re happy to share. In a move that I’d classify as a somewhat appealing headscratcher, Steel Train is being released in conjunction with Terrible Thrills Volume 1, a companion piece that features each of the record’s songs reinterpreted by a famous music gal, including Tegan & Sara, Nellie McKay, Amanda Palmer and Scarlett Johansson, and is available only via the band’s website.
