Photo Recap: Future Islands and Milo @ Old National Center

Future Islands put on a hell of a show. The combination of the band’s rollicking synth-pop alongside frontman Samuel T. Herring’s passionate performances have a persuasive power over audiences, drawing longtime supporters deeper into the fold and making fast fans of the rest. The band’s latest album, The Far Field, is another earnest take on loss that finds Herring crooning and growling his way through twelve songs that are over far too soon; although brutal at times, the lyrics are still as heartfelt and captivating as ever. With Milo and the Ruby Yacht House Band also on the bill, the evening more than lived up to the hype.
