Three years in the making, former lead singer of Margot & The Nuclear So and Sos, Richard Edwards will release his debut solo effort, Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset through Joyful Noise Recordings on March 31st.

It’s been a rough couple years for Richard, to say the least. He’s battled through more than what I’d wish on any enemy – a potentially fatal stomach condition, an abandoned sold-out tour, and a divorce. But I know Richard Edwards, and I know he’s as resilient and strong as he is creative and talented. And so, after a life-saving surgery, a life-saving faith in a daughter, and the cathartic process of creating an album about absence, I know Richard Edwards is back on the right path. If the first single, “Disappeared Planets“, is any indication, the new album was produced magnificently by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Cass McCombs, Beck), and the songwriting is sure to stir your insides in multiple directions all at once.

“I hope it sounds like being lost in an ocean.” – Richard Edwards
