School ’94 Shred on New Song “Bound”

After announcing a new EP packaged with the reveal of track “Common Sense” a few weeks back, Gotheburg’s School ’94 sizzle in the heavy new cut and title track to the EP, “Bound.” Quite honestly, this is completely left-field from the Smiths-esque moody romanticism in their previous output, which tended to jangle more than cut sharply with the guitar-work, and it is completely great. Dare we say we might here a little Def Leppard (not sure if we have ever used that as a comparison) intertwined with it. Regardless, we are pleased to see guitar-heavy pop songs that were common in the ’80s (see the recently departed Prince or Janet Jackson’s “Black Cat” to a lesser degree) starting to surface in today’s musical tastes. You can pre-order the EP on limited edition vinyl via their Bandcamp.
