“Our only direction was for the work to be vibrant and bursting with vitality. On the simple level of color, we wanted the jacket to express the brighter sounds and songs on our second album in relation to LP1. We feel Mode has an emotional warmth that the first album deliberately avoids. We also wanted to give our fans a chance to make a closer connection to the music.” – Brett

Efforvescent dreampop band Brett had one of our favorite LPs back in 2014 with their self-titled debut. After a releasing an EP via Chill Mega Chill last year, they have returned with a new LP, Mode, slated to drop on March 18th via the always reliable Cascine. Inspiration for this album was more visual with Jean-Luc Godard’s recent film, Goodbye to Language, and light installations of James Turrell proving as a focal points. With the announcement, they have also provided a stream of the album’s lead single found below. You can pre-order the vinyl here with the first 50 coming with cut squares from large-scale painting by LA artist, Charley Alexander, who provided the album artwork.
