While singles may be the way many consume music in 2014, albums are still the tried and true method of figuring out if an artist is a flash in the pan doomed to be forgotten or someone who has true staying power that will be listened to well beyond their release date. Many say that this year was might have been soft towards the top, but that just means there were a lot more solid albums in the middle to have to sift through from our perspective. Some we were excited about initially, only to never go back a listen to, while other releases slowly crept up on us only to be streamed over and over again.
While there were many established artists that had solid albums, this year really belonged to the new faces. EPs are included in this list as it is a format being used more and more frequently to amazing results and, really, the definition of album is a collection of something with no mention of length, so it still makes sense. With that being said, we are happy to present you with our favorite albums of 2014 broken up into two parts for loading purposes (you can find #1-#35 here). We appreciate you hanging with us this year and look forward to doing the same in 2015.
