MOKB Premiere : Paul Conrad : “Thanks For Nothing”

Aussie Paul Conrad is a brooding, introspective artist to keep on your radar. He makes music that reflects not only himself, but the world around him and all of us. As he puts it, “Perhaps I’m just a sad, woeful, disgusting person, so the sickening emotion that drives me to write is eternal and ever present. That and scotch.” Whatever his motivations, we cannot get enough of his twinkling, guitar-driven song “Thanks For Nothing.” While would never place the burden of comparing someone to Jeff Buckley, you definitely can draw some parallels with the isolated, moving guitar work and soaring vocals of his debut song. It nicely fills a void between the singer-songwriter and more bluesy rock music that has been neglected over the last few years. You can expect to be hearing more from this intriguing artist in the coming months.
