It has been approximately 3 years since Chris Acosta, better known as The Delta Mirror, infiltrated our headphones with the album Machines That Listen and the ominous cut “He Was Worse Than The Needle He Gave You.” Well, he is back with a brand new album, Better Unsung, out August 6th via new a new label Lightwave. The album was produced by Anticon Records co-founder, Alias, with appearances by Blue Sky Black Death, Alias collaborator Tarsier, and Danny Fujikawa (Chief). While there still are the electronic touches of his debut, he adds more lush, traditional song constructions with higher production value and focused experimentation on this one. The introduction to the new LP is the self-loathing “Undeveloped Unreturned.” The song slowly builds only to push through at the end with a hint of optimism. It is one of the more straightforward rock songs on the album. Find it below.
