Tomorrow, Portland’s The Parson Red Heads will be be releasing a deluxe re-issue of their 2011 album Yearling adding the six tracks that made up their EP Murmurations via Second Motion Records. To coincide, the band put together for a video for “Another Chance” inspired by the videos of the 60’s with the band playing in front of a psychedelic backdrop. From the band:
This is our first foray into a video beyond a “fly on the wall” serious / sentimental type of video. Just a bizarre experiment in homage to Black Sabbath + 60’s psychedelia + 60’s folk rock band TV show performances. And I think it turned out funny, and really cool looking. And hopefully people will enjoy it! Kinda the first time we’ve shown the sense of humor side of the band.
“Another Chance” has a heavy Byrds influence mixed with all of the great NW indie folk scene (Fleet Foxes, Blitzen Trapper, Fruit Bats, etc) that has been getting major pub over that last few years. Watch below.
