Every year that passes by, it easier and easier to disseminate music to the masses and for us gets more and more difficult to keep up with all of the new music put out. Light Up Gold by New York/Texas band Parquet Courts was one of those albums that fell through the cracks for us when it was released in August earlier this year. The LP is slacker rock at its finest that goes nice with a beer and cigarette. It has some grit to it that tends to be lost in modern indie rock at the moment and makes you feel cool in the same way Is This It from The Strokes did.
