GEMS is a Washington, D.C.-based dream pop outfit. In October of this past year, the duo recorded a some songs in an empty beach house in the Outer Banks, NC right before being evacuated due to a hurricane. The two tracks they recorded titled were the dark and haunting “Void Moon” and “All I Ever”.

Their sound is of loneliness and heartache as most popular music with lyrics in “All I Ever” that read “you’re telling me you want to die, but you won’t look me in the eye, so I don’t know what happens now, you’re far away somehow”. The rawness of the emotion dripping from each word sung can’t help but draw you in. This is a band to really keep an eye on in the coming year.
