Not sure if Denver is an Americana supergroup masquerading as a barely under control drinking party, or the other way around, but who gives a rat’s sweet patootie as long as they deliver the good. Based in Portland and featuring members of Blitzen Trapper and Alela Diane’s Wild Divine, Denver plays at the intersection of high-country and Laurel Canyon, an address favored by current acts like The Jayhawks and Dawes. However, with these fellas, you can sense the watchful eye of Gram Parsons, Neil Young and especially Manassas-era Stephen Stills. The Way It Is is the first single from the band’s self-titled debut, and I don’t need to tell you that that Eagles-esque logo is going to look great on a 3/4-length sleeved shirt.
