It never ceases to amaze, the high quality material being release by Alive Naturalsound Records. Their latest discovery is Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, a four-piece Birmingham-based band that combines classic Southern fried rawk with just a splash (why yes, that is a Misfits frock that Bains is sporting above) of punk attitude.
Of course, Bains himself is no stranger to the music biz. As a founding member of the near legendary Dexateens, he’s crisscrossed the great land countless times and razed many a stage. And while The Glory Fires may be more roots-leaning than that earlier unit, they retain more than the recommended daily value of piss and vinegar, all of which is distilled into the band’s 180 proof debut, There Is A Bomb In Gilead. And don’t let the easy going saunter of single Opelika lull you into a false sense of security, ‘caus these boys can bring it live.
