Song : Spirit Family Reunion : I Am Following The Sound

Shunning their urbane origins, Brooklyn-based neo-folkies, Spirit Family Reunion, will be bringing their brand of hoothollerstampandshout to the bins on June 15th. The band’s debut, No Separation, blends the fervor of a tent revival with the wallop of a bare-knuckle brawler, which is hardly surprising given the SFR’s reputation as a live act. A reputation, in fact, that has already landed them on bills with The Alabama Shakes, David Wax Museum and the late Levon Helm among others.

The band will be busy this summer, traipsing up and down the right coast, making stops at the Newport Folk and Celebrate Brooklyn Festival along the way, so get out and see them if you can. If you can’t, simply try to resist I Am Following The Sound.

Great tune from Spirit Family Reunion. I was lucky enough to catch them supporting Levon Helm earlier this year and they played their part in a truly wonderful evening. Cannot wait for the album. Keep up the great work!
