New Song : Tyler Ramsey : The Valley Wind

Before Tyler Ramsey was the really tall, shy-yet-kind guy who played guitar in Band Of Horses, he was a pretty excellent singer-songwriter in his own right. This September 27th, Ramsey will release his third solo album, The Valley Wind, through Fat Possum. The new album was produced by Bill Reynolds, also of Band Of Horses (who’s also worked with Lissie and The Avett Brothers, among others).

If we were goin’ to a barbeque, the album’s title track would have the guitar-and-snare Neil Young chicken rub all over it. Lyrically, it is what you’ve come to expect from Ramsey’s solo work, a little bit of loss, a little bit of longing, a whole lot of warmth, honesty, and emotion.
