Exclusive Video : Tommy Keene : Deep Six Saturday

Seems like it was just last week that I was singing the praises of one Tommy Keene, the undisputed yet unheralded king of power pop. I have no idea if the man’s latest, Behind the Parade, will make cash registers ring when it’s officially released on August 31st (why not pre-order now?), but the record finds its way into my workday rotation practically every afternoon, typically immediately after lunch as a strategy for warding off a carb coma. Something about those opening chords of Deep Six Saturday that set digestion into motion, I reckon. Regardless, I never dreamed we’d get a video for the song, but whattaya know? And not just any video, mind you, but one with a trumpet playing chauffeur in a bear suit. Talk about getting more bang for your buck.

Tommy, love the new song – do not stop making records….I grew up near Bethesda, have listened to you since The Razz and echoing an above comment, yes, still have my ‘Strange Alliance’ LP with the Back to Zero/Mr. Roland single inside. Hope to see you at Iota!
