Dave King is one of the busiest cats in the Twin Cities. Like a county fair game of Whack-A-Percussionist, he pops up over here with The Bad Plus, pokes his head out over there with Dave King’s Trucking Company, and before you can blink, he pops up again with Halloween, Alaska. He’s also one of the most talented, but that’s a story for another time.
The latest/greatest from the Halloweenies is called All Night The Calls Came In, and it drops digitally August 30th, followed by a full-blown physical release on September 20th. The record is being released on Amble Down, the label responsible for bringing that Justin Vernon character to the masses, so for those of you into conspiracy theories…
At the risk of sounding like a homer, it’s always exciting to hear what H,A is going to conjure up next. With that in mind, MOKB is pleased to bring you the premiere of the lead single from All Night The Calls Came In, Dance By Accident. It’s a groovy little surrealist earwig. Dark, but a little airier then stuff we’ve heard from them previously. And it suggests that this is a band that might have more than a few Walter Becker or Alan Parsons Project records laying around.
Looking forward to hearing the rest of this one.
