New Video : Big Harp : White Hat

Los Angeleno three-piece Big Harp will release their debut, White Hat, on September 13th. Recorded in a mere three days in a less-is-more sorta rush, the album was overseen by Rilo Kiley bassist Pierre de Reeder, and falls nicely in Townes Van Zandt/Justin Townes Earle territory with just enough surliness to make things interesting. And as long as we’re talking interesting, the band features Stefanie Drootin-Senseney, who has done hard time in many popular indie units in recent years, including Bright Eyes and She & Him. Drootin-Senseney is also the founder + executive director of the Omaha Girls Rock! camp, a cause near and dear to MOKB’s heart.

Recently the band sat down in front of the cameras for Dickies and spun this humorous walkin’ blues number, White Hat.

Nice tune, but is probably better with their regular singer. Hate when a band has to have the guitar player sing when the real singer is on a bender. They should really repost this when the other guy is available.

Oh, what? Really? That guy is their real singer? Who told him to try that? Obviously didn’t work, did it?
