Los Angeleno three-piece Big Harp will release their debut, White Hat, on September 13th. Recorded in a mere three days in a less-is-more sorta rush, the album was overseen by Rilo Kiley bassist Pierre de Reeder, and falls nicely in Townes Van Zandt/Justin Townes Earle territory with just enough surliness to make things interesting. And as long as we’re talking interesting, the band features Stefanie Drootin-Senseney, who has done hard time in many popular indie units in recent years, including Bright Eyes and She & Him. Drootin-Senseney is also the founder + executive director of the Omaha Girls Rock! camp, a cause near and dear to MOKB’s heart.
Recently the band sat down in front of the cameras for Dickies and spun this humorous walkin’ blues number, White Hat.
