New Song + Video : Pontiak : Part III

The brothers of Pontiak are currently in the studio working on their next full-length, but that hasn’t dampened their spirits for releasing new music as witnessed by the soon-to-be-released Comecrudos EP.

What the next record is going to sound like is anyone’s guess, because Comecrudos represents a fairly radical departure for the band. For starters, the EP is a single piece of music, 25 minutes in length, inspired by “the orogeny and environment of West Texas from Marathon to Big Bend.” Perhaps more shocking is the absence of pedal effects, which is offset by the presence of horns.

Comecrudos officially drops on June 21st, but is already available for pre-order. If you are at all interested in scoring this platter, I highly recommend going the pre-order route, as the vinyl only release is limited to 1000 copies.

If you’re digging the studio version of the track, hold tight, because this Part III/Shell Skull medley from SXSW 2011 is gonna have the cats cowering in the corner before it’s over and done.
