MOKB Premiere : Ghost Animal : Young And In Love

Portland duo Ghost Animal plays the sort of dream pop that used to make all the girlies weak in the knees back in the 80s. You know, Cocteau Twins or Dead Can Dance laced with a little Jesus And Mary Chain. Amazingly, Ghost Animal pulls it off in a way that, not only doesn’t sound anachronistic, but actually sounds fresh and exciting.

MOKB is mighty pleased to premiere the video for Young And In Love, a stone cold stunner with a gauzy clip that’s one of the best, if not most surreal, I’ve come across in a while. All feedback-drenched nostalgia and love-stoned youth, juxtaposed with what appears to be gladiatorial paint-wielding clowns, this will likely be the most satisfying (or trippy) 3 minutes of your day.

If you likes, we recommend you run, don’t walk, to get a copy of Youth, a limited cassette-only collection of the band’s unreleased singles and B-sides. Each copy of Youth is dubbed on a brilliant see-through yellow C38 cassette and includes one of three inserts. A rare and lovely bird indeed.
