MOKB Premiere : Infantree : Slaughter House

For some reason, I subjected myself to VH-1 and FUSE’s Top 20 video countdowns this weekend. And while the jury is still out on how I feel about Lil’ Wayne, I now realize that I haven’t missed Nelly one bit and Pitbull’s skills are being under-utilized at best. I still love videos, I’m sure owing to my being sentient at the birth of MTV, but more and more, it takes something a little left-of-center to really grab me.

Enter Infantree, the new crown princes of the San Fernando Valley. Recorded at legendary Sunset Sound and produced by Hollywood hired gun extraordinaire, Niko Bolas (Neil Young, KISS, Warren Zevon, The Circle Jerks), their recently-released full-length debut, Would Work, carries some serious industry juice. I’m on the fence about the song, but you gotta love a video in which raw meat figures so prominently.

This song is vary good, comforting and strong. I hear a traditional Swedish folk influence. The video was really weird, i like it.
