Watch Dream Wife’s Video for “Somebody”

 photo dreamwife3_zpsufy3yyct.png

Already very much fans of British/Icelandic born trio Dream Wife, we were absolutely blown away by the intensity of their live show during SXSW a few weeks back. Their already great catalog, yet still small catalog of songs take another, even better form in a live setting turning the volume up quite a few notches. “Somebody” is their latest female-empowering single and today they have unloaded a “direct and simple” video for the song. According to the band, they “drew inspiration from the male dominated iconography of 70s glam rock; a time where men were able to explore their femininity.” While there is nothing official, you can most likely expect their debut album in the very near future. You can grab “Somebody” and the rest of their music via Bandcamp.

Louisville’s The Pass Share Video for the Track “It’s OK”

 photo thepass_zpsiz759byg.png

The Pass released their latest collection of stylized electronic-pop songs last year with the album Canyons. Themes of escape and fractured relationships are packaged with instant hooks and tight production. The most fully realized of the bunch might be the opening track “It’s OK” overcome with dark landscapes and sprawling synth work. Directed by Matt Fulks, tThe visual falls in line with the ’80s-indebted production matching neon-lit dark rooms and a story that falls somewhere between Miami Vice, Driver, and a Tarantino flick. With the new video also comes a few select live dates starting tomorrow. There is no word yet on new music from the band, but based on their track record, we wouldn’t be surprised to see something in the very near future.

Tour Dates:
3/30 – Austin, TX (Barracuda with The Wrecks / ALL AGES)
3/31 – Texas A&M Island Party
5/1 – Louisville, KY (Kentucky Derby Festival)

Before the release of it, they have offered up the woozy track “Snowflakes” clocking in at just under an all-to-short two-minutes and washing over you like a cloud of smoke. Last months, we posted about the track “Company,” a demo from Hoops’ Drew Auscherman. Today, he shows us his inner late ’80s pop star in the lo-fi video for the track done by Sean Albert. With the video comes the announcement of a tape later this year featuring the song along with most likely another gem “Happy Place.” Keep an eye on his Soundcloud for other tracks to appear on the release.
