Songs : The Walkmen : “Dance With Your Partner” and “Vermeer ’65”

Apparently, The Walkmen were unable to find enough space on their latest excellent LP Heaven. Two new tracks have surfaced titled “Dance With Your Partner” and “Vermeer ’65” from said album sessions that did not make the final cut. Both are mellow affairs that are not some toss away tracks that you might expect given they did not get placement on the album. They make you wonder what other kind of unheard goodies might be out there. The limited edition of 1000 7″ will be released on November 6th and can be pre-ordered here through Fat Possum.

Song + Video : Psychic Ills : “Take Me With You”

New York’s Psychic Ills are currently in the studio recording the follow-up to last year’s excellent Hazed Dream, but that does not mean we have to wait until it is finished for new material. On August 7th, the band will be releasing a split 7″ with Moon Duo featuring “Take Me With You” on Sacred Bones. The cut is a gritty, but accessible track with bluesy guitars under lazy vocals. You can find it along with the video directed by Robert Betty (crafted album covers for Peaking Lights, Real Estate, and OPN) & Coleman Guyon.
